Digital Literacy for Students (DLFS-1025)

The Digital Literacy for Students is a 3-month fully online training program designed to equip students with essential digital skills needed for academic success and online assessments. It provides practical knowledge in computer usage, productivity tools, online research, and digital safety, with a focus on preparing for Computer-Based Tests (CBT) and e-learning platforms.

The program is organized into 3 modules, each lasting 4 weeks, with interactive lessons, practical activities, and end-of-module assessments:

  • Digital Foundations for Students
  • Academic Productivity Tools
  • Exam and Learning Tools

Each module features real-world academic applications, preparing students for assignments, digital collaboration, and online examinations.

Duration: 4 Weeks

Objectives

  • Understand basic computer hardware and academic uses
  • Navigate Windows OS and manage academic files
  • Use email and web browsers for communication and research
  • Practice responsible and safe digital behavior

Week 1: Introduction to Computers

  • What is a computer? Types and uses in academic settings
  • Basic hardware: CPU, RAM, storage, input/output devices

Week 2: Operating Systems and Navigation

  • Understanding Windows OS: desktop, taskbar, Start menu
  • File and folder management: saving, organizing, renaming

Week 3: Introduction to the Internet

  • Basics of web browsing: search engines, academic research tips
  • Email setup and usage for communication with lecturers/schools

Week 4: Digital Citizenship and Safety

  • Responsible use of technology (ethics, respect, and plagiarism)
  • Identifying phishing scams and protecting personal data

Duration: 4 Weeks

Objectives

  • Develop skills in word processing for academic writing
  • Use spreadsheets for organizing and calculating data
  • Create engaging presentations for school projects
  • Apply tools in a practical, integrated academic project

Week 5: Word Processing for Assignments

  • Creating and formatting documents in MS Word / Google Docs
  • Page layout, headers/footers, inserting images and tables

Week 6: Spreadsheets for Academic Tasks

  • Data entry and simple calculations in Excel / Google Sheets
  • Formatting, sorting, and using basic formulas

Week 7: Presentations for School Projects

  • Creating educational slides in PowerPoint / Google Slides
  • Adding transitions, animations, and multimedia elements

Week 8: Review and Project

  • Combined practice project using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Peer reviews and feedback

Duration: 4 Weeks

  • Familiarize with computer-based testing platforms
  • Use online learning tools for classes and assignments
  • Utilize cloud storage for managing academic files
  • Demonstrate practical skills in a final digital assessment

Week 9: Introduction to CBT (Computer-Based Testing)

  • Overview of CBT platforms (e.g., JAMB UTME, school LMS platforms)
  • Navigating test interfaces: question types and timing
  • CBT practice with sample questions

Week 10: Online Learning Platforms

  • Using Google Classroom, Moodle, and other e-learning tools
  • Submitting assignments and participating in online discussions

Week 11: Cloud and Collaboration Tools

  • Introduction to Google Drive / OneDrive
  • Saving and sharing academic files online

Week 12: Final Review and Assessment

  • Internet safety recap and practical digital skills test
  • Feedback session, course evaluation, and certification
  • Candidates preparing for CBT-based exams (e.g., National Exams, JAMB, school e-tests)
  • Administrative or support staff learning digital tools
  • Learners using online platforms for assignments, research, and collaboration
  • First-time users of academic productivity tools like MS Word, Excel, and Google Docs

Program Payment Structure & Access Policy

To ensure flexibility and affordability, our academy offers a structured payment plan that allows learners to pay in installments while maintaining accountability and commitment to their learning journey.

Module Access Policy

Module Access Condition
Module 1 Access after payment of ₦9,000.00 (50% of program fee)
Module 2 Requires additional ₦4,500.00 (total 75% (₦13,500.00) payment must be complete)
Module 3 Requires additional ₦4,500.00 to make it full payment of ₦18,000.00 (100% payment must be completed)

Learners may choose to pay the full ₦18,000.00 upfront for complete access.


Important Notes

  • Access to each module is conditional on payment milestones.
  • The platform will automatically restrict access to unpaid modules.
  • No learner will proceed to Module 2 or beyond unless they have fulfilled the required payment percentage.
  • Learners who complete full payment will receive unrestricted access to all modules and the final certification.

How to Make Payment

  1. Log into your dashboard
  2. Navigate to Billing/Payment
  3. Select the installment you want to pay
  4. Choose your payment method (Card/Transfe/Wallet)
  5. Confirm and proceed. Your module will unlock once payment is verified.
